Reminder Note

The average amount of times I will update per day is once.  Depending on the occasion I might update two or three times.  Remember to e-mail me to suggest games you'd like to see reviewed, previewed, or hardware you'd like to see reviewed.  My rating scale goes from 1-10.  Here's a legend for the symbols I use.  + Good, - Bad, ? Perplexing.  And here's what the score range means.  8.5- 10 is Editor's Choice that is a must buy.  7.5-8.4 is a good game just shy of greatness.  6.0-7.4 is a game with a few flaws, but still worthy for a rent.  5.0-5.9 games that probably should have been tested thoroughly, make sure it's your type of game.  3.5-4.9- games that should not have been made, only fools dare tread further.  1.0-3.4 craptacular goodness that are proud to say that Superman 64 and the GTA series their idol games.  0.0 means that it isn't even a video game it sucks so much.

  Halo 2

                 By Bungie

Of course you've been waiting for Halo 2 for about, 2 years.  You finally got your wish on November 9th.  Now at HidenBekk, you can get an exclusive hands-on review.  So let's get crackin'.

I probably love Halo, sixty-thousand times more than you do.  But does that mean I won't share Halo 2 with you.  Yes it does.  Touch it, and I call the police.  Anyway, let's take a look.  You remember the large, beautiful enviroments from Halo 1 right.  Well, can you imagine it revamped 11 times over.  There's a lot to be found in these levels.  Nice little touches of, say a broken off chunk of a building, little birds flying around (which can be shot out of the sky), and bullet shells that litter the ground.  Just nice little touches that make this game really enjoyable.  Everything in this game is alive I tell you.  IT'S ALIVE, IT'S ALIIIVE!!!!!!!  But the enviroments can't be great without good graphics.  Bungie saw that one coming too.  The graphics look nothing like Halo 1 did, although it yet again revolutionized gaming in graphics.  The Master Chief's armor look's really shiny this time around, as does everything else.  Sometimes it's nice to pause for a second and look at the Elite's shiny armor.  Although, I don't think your going to want to pause.  The gameplay is action packed enough to make you feel like you're there.  Vehicle damage is the new trend.  Blowing up Warthogs was fun before, but you ain't seen nuttin' yet.  Try blowing off it's hubcaps, wheels, windshield, and the whole friggin' thing.  Also with the covenant, you can play as an Elite.  I don't just mean in multiplayer, I mean in the campaign.  Sounds fun right?  Wrong.  I absoloutely despised the Elite levels.  Not only were they really boring, but they were really, really hard.  Another new thing added, is a ragdoll physics engine.  It's not over the top ragdoll like seen in Psi-Ops, but it is ragdoll.  I can't decide whether or not I like the new engine yet, I'll just have to play it some more.  Another downer, is that the end sucked really bad.  I know Bungie's setting it up for a sequel, but that's still inexcusable.  Go check out Halo 2.  See you guys on Xbox Live!!!

+ Gorgeous Graphics

+ I love the Orchestral Music (still)

+ Gameplay that has to be taken online

- Elite levels are a pain the posterior

- The ending sucked

- Takes the textures a little while to catch up in the cinematics

Now I'm going to compare the Halo score, and the Halo 2 score at the bottom so you don't think Halo 2 was worse, cause it wasn't.

Halo's Verdict:

9.5

Halo 2's Verdict:

  Spider-Man 2

By:Treyarch and Activision

Have you ever had fantasies of jumping off of 10 story buildings? How about swinging villans around your head for an hour? If your answer to any of the questions above is yes, than this game is the game for you! Sure the graphics aren't that great and some of the missions can be long and agonizing but all those things are almost forgotten when freefalling from the Empire State building. This game is massive! Their are so many missions that it might take you months to finish the entire game! The map of New York is huge and to scale! What I don't like is that all the non important characters *cough cough, the civilians* are really ummm.... not good! Spider Man was done pretty well and so was Doc. Oc. If you want to explore New York and fight crime than this is your game.

+ Huge maps

+ Realistic New York accents

+ Fun after you beat it

- Long boss fights and missions

- Non-core characters look bad

?Why can't spidey swim?

Final Verdict: 8.0

  Dead or Alive: Ultimate

                               By Tecmo and Team Ninja

There's plenty of great fighters out there: Virtua Fighter 4 and Soul Calibur.  Here's a series that was started before Soul Calibur, and just about around the time of Virtua Fighter.  Dead or Alive (DOA) started in the arcades and moved its way to the Sega Genesis.  The series has been around for a long time, and now its at it's 4th sequel.  I was all over this game when it was released.  The moment it was in my hands, I rushed it right home.  I slapped it in my Xbox and began work on beating it.  The game isn't very hard to beat really.  Just complete Solo-Play with every character and you've got it made.  There's plenty of characters to choose from as well, each with their own custom fighting style.  All these styles mix the game up enough to want to complete the game with all the fighters.  There are plenty of moves for each fighter, a total of 97 combos averaged for each one.  Most of these are hard to pull off, but once you do you really get a sense of satisfaction.  The animations and Mo-Kap are spot on, with fast paced action.  The game is even Xbox Live compatible, with no lag!  The game isn't perfect though.  The audio is a little bit fuzzy, and having to listen to Japanese rap while you fight doesn't exactly help.  They should have added custom soundtracks if you ask me.  This game is still really fun to play, a great game to have when you've got a bunch of your guy friends around and just want to give a good butt kicking.  This game let's you do thing's you couldn't do in real life.  You can beat up this big 700 pound 8 foot tall wrestler, without using a stun gun.  It's a must have for any fighting fan.  Check it out, Dead or Alive: Ultimate.
